Description

Campbell County Libraries are pleased to host Wild and Free – The Mustangs of the McCullough Peaks, a photography exhibit organized by Friends of a Legacy (FOAL), an organization committed to preserving and protecting the wild horse herd living in Wyoming’s McCullough Peaks. The exhibit celebrates the McCullough Peaks mustangs and is on a tour that began in May at Park County Library and will end at the Buffalo Bill Center after making its way to public libraries across the state. FOAL developed the traveling exhibit to educate people about the importance of sustaining the herd of wild horses that roam over 120,000 acres of public land in the BLM’s McCullough Peaks Herd Management Area (HMA) of Park and Big Horn counties. Photographers from across the country sent in entries, from which 30 were chosen for the exhibit. “It was truly exciting to see the diversity of images submitted and learn about the photographers and their passion for the free-roaming horses living in our region,” said Frances Clymer, FOAL board member and exhibit organizer. The show includes information about the horses and provides audiences the opportunity to view these iconic images of our wonderful mustangs, living legacies of the American West.
