Eagle Summit Resources operates the Belle Ayr and Eagle Butte coal mines in the Powder River Basin, both of which are included in the most productive mines in the country. Some of the longest active mines in the area, Belle Ayr has been in operation since 1972 and Eagle Butte since 1977, and currently in combination produce 25-35 million tons of coal annually. The company employs approximately 550 Wyoming workers, focusing on safety, sustainability and productivity while striving to meet the energy needs of the United States.
