About

Farmers Cooperative Association was established in 1923, as a Wyoming corporation organized and operated on a cooperative basis for the purpose of supplying a variety of products to its patrons and members. In May of 2018, FCA merged with CBH Cooperative out of Sturgis, SD, creating CBH CO-OP. Products and services range from farm & ranch supplies, animal nutrition (we have a livestock production specialist on staff), agronomy chemicals and application (agronomy specialist available on staff), hardware, energy products (fuel and propane delivery), and more. Your local co-op provides the goods and services you need to keep your farming and ranching operations successfully producing.

Revenues in excess of operating costs and expenses are allocated to members on a patronage basis. Transfers of patronage are permitted only with the approval of the Board of Directors. Anyone can be a member; however, voting membership is limited to agricultural producers. There are several locations in Gillette, WY, the grain and feed warehouse at 207 E. 1st St.; a western store offering ranch supplies, a self-serve gas station, propane bottle fill, clothing and footwear, hardware and automotive, as well as a downstairs office for Member Services (fuel and propane ordering/delivery) at 1206 S. Douglas Hwy.; bulk fuels and propane plants, a card operated self-service fuel station, and truck maintenance yard at 3605 Hackathorne; and bulk propane and fuel plants located in Sundance.

The cooperative is owned by the customers we serve. That defines the organization structure; the cooperative is owned by the local rancher-members of our community who, once every year, elect ten of their members to serve on a Board of Directors. The cooperative is managed by a CEO, selected by the Board of Directors, to staff and manage the business in the interest of the member-owners, under the policies and procedures established and approved by the Board of Directors.

Customers are among the organization's most valuable assets. Every employee is hired to provide quality and courteous service to those customers in a safe and responsible way. Customers who wish to contact CBH regarding service, employment, or help can direct comments to Member Services.

The values that drive the direction of our company and guide our decisions are:

  • Safety: We will not harm ourselves, each other, our customers or the environment.
  • Honesty: We will be fair, truthful, and ethical in all of our business practices.
  • Customer Service: We will communicate openly and effectively giving quality service to all internal and external customers.
  • Teamwork: We will work together with compassion and loyalty, treating each other as we would want to be treated.
  • Leadership: We will anticipate, adapt, and grow to the changing needs of our communities

Ongoing success requires CBH to adjust to the changing needs of the communities and customers we serve, while maintaining competitive price structures allowing the management and Board to maintain the business and grow into the future. Safety to ourselves and others, including environmental awareness, is a responsibility we all share. We thank you for visiting our website, and we look forward to serving your needs.
